車隊總經理、前名將 Axel Merckx在聲明中哀悼：
「Samuele 是這支車隊的靈魂人物，過去是，未來也是。這支隊伍像是一個小家庭，發生這樣的事情，簡直難以想像。他無可取代。他的喜悅、他的精神、他的善良，無論走到哪裡都是一道光，無論是哪場比賽、哪個空間，他都能點亮整個現場。失去他，是無法用言語形容的打擊。」

❐ 為車隊的培訓選手之一
這是他在 Hagens Berman Jayco 的第二年，車隊也與 WorldTour 等級的 Jayco–AlUla 隊有合作關係。今年三月，他曾被選拔至一級賽事陣容，參加 Coppi e Bartali。
